'' Where the hills wear mist like a second skin, and every frame tells a quieter story."

Munnar doesn't announce itself. It arrives slowly  in layers of green, in fog that rolls over tea rows at dawn, in light that feels filtered through a thousand leaves before it reaches your lens. This four day workshop takes you from the misty highlands of the Western Ghats to the golden backwaters of Alappuzha  two of Kerala's most photographically rich landscapes, studied at the hours they're most alive.

FAQ

What is the best time of year for this workshop?

October to March offers the clearest skies and coolest temperatures. The monsoon months (June–August) bring dramatic mist but less reliable light for workshops.

Do I need professional camera equipment?

Any interchangeable-lens camera works well in Munnar — the soft diffused light is forgiving. A wide-angle for landscape and a moderate telephoto for compressing mountain layers are recommended.

How physically demanding are the sunrise shoots?

The Anamudi and Gap Road locations require some walking on uneven terrain in the dark. Comfortable walking shoes and a torch are essential — manageable for most fitness levels.

Is this suitable for beginners?

Yes — the workshop works for any experience level. Daily reviews and processing sessions mean you learn from your own images, not generic examples.

Are drones permitted in Munnar and Alappuzha?

Drone usage in Munnar requires permissions from local forest and civil aviation authorities — parts of the area fall under protected forest zones which carry additional restrictions. For the Alappuzha portion, backwater drone clearances are arranged separately. We coordinate both permit applications before the workshop begins, but approvals are never fully guaranteed and are subject to conditions on the day. All drone-related permit fees are not included in the base workshop price. We do not fly without valid permission — ever.

Munnar is waiting.
