"Some journeys are measured in kilometres. Others are measured in memories. Ladakh belongs to the second kind."
Ladakh does not unfold gently. It arrives in extremes: thin air at 17,500 feet, valleys carved by glacial rivers, monasteries that have watched the same sun rise for a thousand years. Over eight days we move from the palace ridgelines of Leh to the desert dunes of Nubra, the stone lanes of Turtuk, and the impossible blue of Pangong and Tso Moriri, two of the highest lakes a camera will ever meet.

First Breath At Altitude
The mountains don't reveal themselves immediately. Following acclimatization guidelines, we spend the day adjusting to Ladakh's thin air before visiting Stok Village and ending with sunset views from Shanti Stupa overlooking Leh Palace.

The Hill That Defies Gravity
Morning light spreads across Leh from Shanti Stupa before we explore Magnetic Hill and the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers. The day ends at Basgo Monastery, where ancient ruins glow beneath the last light of the evening.

Over The Pass, Into Another World
Crossing some of Ladakh's highest mountain roads, we leave Leh behind and enter the remarkable landscapes of Nubra Valley. Diskit Monastery and the valley's desert landscapes provide our first glimpse of this unique Himalayan region.

Meet Your Expedition Leader
Leading this expedition is Ganesh Bagal, a professional landscape photographer and photography educator with over 15 years of experience.
Having explored Ladakh on six photography expeditions, Ganesh has spent years photographing its dramatic mountain passes, pristine lakes, ancient monasteries, and high-altitude landscapes. His extensive experience in the region ensures participants are guided to the best locations while making the most of Ladakh's unique light, weather, and photographic opportunities.
His work has been recognized with Tamron Photographer of the Year (2015) and published in National Geographic, Sanctuary Asia, and several other publications. He has also served as a jury member for photography competitions, including contests organized by India's Ministry of Culture.
Ganesh proudly represents Sony Alpha, Peak Design, Haida Filters, Think Tank Photo, Godox, and Google Pixel, bringing years of international travel and hands-on photographic experience to every expedition, ensuring participants enjoy a well-planned journey with expert guidance in the field.

Is prior high-altitude experience required?
"No, but patience with acclimatization is. Day one is built entirely around adjusting to the altitude before we move further."
What camera gear should I bring?
"A wide-angle lens for landscapes, a fast prime for astro work, and a sturdy tripod. We'll share a full gear list closer to departure."
How cold does it get at Pangong and Tso Moriri?
"Nights can drop below freezing even in summer. Layered thermal wear is essential for the astro sessions."
Are Inner Line Permits arranged for us?
"Yes, all permits for Nubra, Turtuk, Pangong and Tso Moriri are arranged as part of the expedition."
